Introduction
At Trinkaurity Cockers, it is important that you are able to meet myself, your puppy’s Mama with her litter. You will see first hand where your puppy has grown up for the first 8 weeks and perhaps most importantly, you will get those wonderful and precious first cuddles! Puppies are reared centrally within my home, they are part of our daily lives from the moment they arrive.
Should a family not be able to visit (for whatever reason) I will ensure they are made to feel just as involved throughout the 8 week journey.
Minimising Stress
It is vital to minimise the stress when I invite visitors into my home. It is essential that families who wish to visit my home, are respectful of my rules when interacting with my dogs, to ensure they are treated with respect, care, consideration at all times. Families visit, often with excitement, a little anxiety and a higher energy, and this will create an uneven balance that my dogs will sense. Whilst my dogs will accept visitors into my home, this change in presence can present as stress to my Dam and unsettle my pack.
My main priority is to ensure Mama is able to care for her litter without cause for concern.
Please ensure you are able to adhere to this policy and are respectful of the rules which are in place to ensure the welfare and well-being of my dogs and puppies is at the heart of what I do at all times.
Visitation Policy and Procedure 2024
Please read the following prior to visiting Trinkaurity Cockers:
- All appointments are 30-45 minutes in length. Puppies tire very easily and Mama, whilst she may be very tolerant of you holding her puppy, will be wanting pup to be back with her litter.
- Visits are only permitted once a family has placed a reservation on a puppy.
- Visits will be held when puppies are between the age of 4-6 weeks only.
- No children are able to visit at this time. Only adults aged 18 years plus.
- No shoes are permitted to be worn inside my home.
- Hands must be sanitised upon arrival. There is a handsfree alcohol hand sanitiser dispenser by the front door.
- All visitors must sign in at arrival and sign out on departure.
- All visitors must adhere to the Visitor Conduct written below.
- Failure to adhere to these rules and guidelines will result with you being kindly asked to leave.
- The welfare of my dogs and puppies will always be put first.
Parking: please park respectfully of my neighbours and do not block their drives. If necessary, please park in a neighbouring road and walk around when it is your appointment time.
Visitor Code of Conduct
Please do not:
- Bend over a dog (this is a threatening posture and invasion of space from the dog’s perspective)
- Reach out your hand for a dog to sniff (another invasion of space, especially from a standing position!)
- Force interactions (like hugging a dog or touching them when they don’t want to be touched — violation of space)
- Smoke for at least 60 minutes prior to the visit – anyone smelling of smoke will be asked to leave
Please do:
- Respect the 30-45 minute time limit for appointments
- Walk in calmly, quietly and confidently
- Ignore my girls (dogs!) initially whilst they settle, they may be excited for visitors!
- Only handle your puppy – don’t worry, I shall get them for you 🙂
- Arrive on time: If you are running late or are going to arrive early, please contact me as I am usually very busy right up until our appointment time and right after it.
